From this perspective I can see my plan to tell my life story in two different and contradictory ways. Either I insist on grasping the trush, pretending to believe that language can do this (which is the same as admitting language is free), and in that case, all I will ever produce is a ready-made life story. Alternatively, I will replace the biographical details with working constructs explicitly expressing an ideology, but over these and thanks to these I will this time be able to exercise my influence. The second method produces La Jalousie (Jealousy) or Projet pour une révolution (Project for a Revolution in New York) . The first, alas, the present work.
